Yoga for Grieving with Emily Potter

Where the light gets in: yoga for grieving

This donation-based class is a slow-flow practice that creates a safe container for those moving through loss, heartache, or life transitions. Together, we use movement, stillness, and breath to meet the spaces within that are tender and asking for care.

Grief is rarely linear. It can move through the body as heaviness, restlessness, numbness, or sudden waves of feeling. This class makes room for all of it. There is no pressure to arrive in any particular state, and no expectation to leave "fixed." The practice simply offers a place to be with what is true right now.

Through slow, supported movement and conscious breath, we reconnect with the life force that continues to move through us, even in sorrow. This class honors the paradox of grief, where vulnerability and courage quietly coexist, and where softening can itself be an act of strength.

All bodies and all stages of grief are welcome here.

Meet your guide

Emily is a Grief Recovery Specialist, nutritionist, wellness guide, and heart-centered supporter for those navigating grief and loss. Eighteen years ago, a plane crash took the lives of her father and both brothers, reshaping the course of her life and drawing her into this work. Since then, she has walked closely with grief in its many forms — divorce, loss of health, unmet expectations, the quiet ache of life turning out differently than hoped.

Rooted in holistic nutrition, yoga, and functional wellness, Emily believes healing isn't about moving on, but about learning to tend the heart while still holding what's been lost. She lives in Bozeman, MT with her family and welcomes those seeking support through grief and life's transitions.
